Today’s featured scrapbooker is Kristie Taylor. As you can see from these layouts, Kristie has a very distinct and fun scrapbooking style. I love her creativity!
Kristie talks to us about her creative process:
1. Tell us about your process for creating a layout.
Well my process changes a little with the type of project I am doing, for instance if it is a design team project, then I of course start with the products or techniques that are required and then build a background. My backgrounds are almost always a solid or nearly solid card stock. On the card stock I can build texture and interest with things such as spray ink, paints and stamps. I also like to use lots of layers, so my next step is to decide what colors I want to layer with. then after adhering my photo I start adding embellishments.I lay everything out but don’t glue them down until I am sure of the layout I want to use.I don’t set time limits, but I probably should because sometimes it can take me several hours to complete a page.
2. Can you share a time-saving tip with us?
Time saving tips are really not my specialty!! But I guess there is one that I use often. choose all the papers that you think you want to use on a page, lay them all out so you can see them together, then start weeding out the ones that you dont like.this saves time because you dont have to keep looking for your next paper or embellishment.
3. What are your favorite/go-to products?
I positively cannot live without my TH Distress inks, and my black sharpie. and my distresser, and my spray inks. and ,and and ……..yes I NEED them all.
You can find Kristie creating for the following design teams:
