All About Me Challenge Blog – Design Team Call

By

aamAAM has now completed it’s first year of existence and entering into a very exciting time! Lots of awesome opportunities are on the horizon thanks to those that support the mission of this challenge blog (the FIRST of it’s kind, by the way!)

How would you like to be a part of this journey? It’s time again for a Design Team Call. They are looking for a very specific group of creative types to add to their creative team. Spots to fill include Design Team (6-month term), Guest Designers (One month) and Sketch Artists (Varies). Could it be you?

Something new: They will be including periodic articles and tutorials that will help you in expressing yourself through your creativity. “All About Me” isn’t just about compiling a “Book of Me”. It’s also using scrapbooking as a catalyst to help define who you are – what you were created to be and do. Many of their readers are trying to define their artistic style – perhaps you can help motivate them? Some readers are dipping their toes into certain techniques that have always scared them – maybe you are the one who will present a tutorial in an easy to follow way?

The opportunities abound!
What are the requirements for the DT Gals?Commit to the six month term: September 2010 – February 2010

Their DT is a contributing team. They work together to brainstorm future challenges and each member hosts a challenge on the blog. Be prepared to write some inspiring blog posts! They also work together in spreading the word and networking with retailers and manufacturers.

Participate in both challenges of the month. They will always have two.
Promote AAM in all your communities! Your local LSS, other online communities, Facebook, Twitter, etc., etc., etc.
Proudly display the DT Badge!
You need to have a blog! We use our blogs a lot and will have at least one DT Blog Hop.
Be prepared to be active on our Forum. It will be asked of you to visit several times a week and to also frequently check the private DT forum (our number 1 way of communication).

Note: There is not a set requirement of posts… just that your presence be known!
What’s in it for you?Be part of a high traffic challenge blog that has been featured in a publication and other scrapbooking sites! This is a great stepping stone for those who are wanting to break into the DT world! They’ve got lots of supporters and visitors who are waiting to meet you.

Have your beautiful photo displayed on the blog along with the link to your blog.
You will receive occasional gifts either from me or one of our generous Sponsors!
Compensation: Unfortunately, they may not able to give you any monetary compensation but you have the freedom to submit your works for any publication! And the scrapbooking world knows them.

How to apply:In order for me to best see your style please send me two layouts. One can be anything – old or new. The second one needs to be new and about YOU. Feel free to use a previous AAM prompt or come up with one of your own. The second layout will be used for the DT Reveal. (Keep them at 600 pixels please = 100 to 300 KB)
A brief bio. Just a few sentences telling me about yourself and why you would be an awesome addition to the DT Gals.
Previous or Current DT Work. (Note: Prior DT experience is not required.)
Link them to your blog and a gallery!
If you are a sketch artist: throw in a couple of your sketches too!
This call is open to international applicants as well!
Send all this in an email to allaboutmechallenge@gmail.com by July 28th. New DT members will be notified via email by July 30th in order to begin brainstorming for September challenges. The official announcement will go out the beginning of August along with their Blog Birthday festivities. :)

  1. “’All About Me’ isn’t just about compiling a ‘Book of Me’. It’s also using scrapbooking as a catalyst to help define who you are – what you were created to be and do. ”

That’s a great description – and distinction. When I created (and wrote) The Book of Me, that’s exactly how I looked at it. I saw my BoM scrapbook as a self-discovery tool, a means to explore what was unique about me, and what I contribute to the lives I touch. That perspective helps you get at much “deeper” material than a page about your daily schedule, or your favorite color.

Good luck with your DT call. With the background you’ve provided here, you should get some interesting entries!
