Photography Tip: Natural Looking Portraits

By

Most of the photos that scrapbookers take are of people or pets. If there is one thing that will improve the look of our photos is learning how to take natural-looking photos. We want to capture images of our loved ones at their best, not as red-eyed, overexposed faces against unrecognizable backgrounds.

Over at the Digital Photography School, wedding and portrait photographer shares 5 tips for getting “natural relaxed portraits”.

In a nutshell, her five tips are:

  1. Get to know your subject.
  2. Plan on a few shots to break the ice.
  3. Make your location work for you.
  4. Help it happen.
  5. Get in there.
