Paper Goodness Celebrate Scrapbooking

Japanese Folded Paper Flowers

November 25, 2008 by Maricar

I stumbled on this blog post on Folding Trees and can’t take my eyes away from these beautiful folded paper flowers. These are called kusudama, and they’re a type of origami.

“The Japanese kusudama is a paper ball made out of multiple identical origami shapes glued together. They were traditionally used as a ball for incense or potpourri but now we see them more for decoration or as a gift.”

Can you imagine these as decors around the house? Or accents for wrapped gifts? They’ll be perfect! They might be too bulky for the scrapbook page, but who says our pretty scrapbook papers should only be used in pages?

Folding Trees has the tutorial.
