East of India Papers from Cherry Arte
July 31, 2006 by Maricar · Leave a Comment

Here’s a gorgeous sheet of paper from Cherry Arte. It’s called Incense and is part of their East of India collection. It is a 12×12, single-sided patterned paper. I like it that, on their website, Cherry Arte lists some suggested cardstock that could go with this sheet: Juneberry, Ivy, Malt, Light Chocolate, Mocha, Iced Cocoa, Anchor, Saddle, Apricot, Yam, Cantalopue, Dark Burgundy, Bon Bon, Lemonade, Squash. We don’t have to use the entire sheet for one scrapbook page, of course. We could cut it up and use those strips as beautiful borders.
Also part of this collection are Delhi Blooms (left) and Sari Dreams (right):

These papers will be shipping to your favorite scrapbook store soon.

Reusable Cling Sheet from Tsukineko
July 28, 2006 by Maricar · Leave a Comment

Here’s something exciting from Tsukineko… a way to make your unmounted stamps attach to a temporary mounting block. Tsukineko introduces the reusable cling sheet “Tack ‘N Peel“. Although it is compatible with both wood and acrylic blocks, I think the real coup happens when you use acrylic blocks. The sheet is transparent so you can easily see where your stamps go on a scrapbook page or card, which is really the advantage clear stamps have over traditional wood-mounts.
To use, you attach the Tack ‘N Peel to the mounting block. The clear liner is then removed and set aside. Place the unmounted stamp to the exposed surface and stamp away. When you’re done, replace the clear liner for next time. The cling sheet is reusable, just rinse it with water and air dry to restore tackiness.
An extra bonus is that any object can be attached to the mounting block using the Tack ‘N Peel. Tsukineko suggests rubber bands, plastic wrap, die cuts, foam, even foil. The Tack ‘N Peel can also be used on brayers.
Color Oasis Stickers from EK Success

Might as well round out the day with a closer look at the Color Oasis Stickers made by EK Success. On the left are Flirty Sticker Strips, which coordinates with the Flirty Page Kit I showed you earlier. The other one is from the Curious collection, which also has a page kit. All the other collections have similar stickers.
These are expressions and words in various fonts. You can cut them apart to use as instant journalling on scrapbook pages, or as sentiments on cards. For example, that “Yours is the world to discover” on the Curious set can be used on a graduation page.

CHA Around the Web Part 3: Previews Galore!
July 26, 2006 by Maricar · Leave a Comment

This is my third post about the recently-concluded summer CHA in Chicago (you can find the first and second here and here, respectively). But I think this is by far the best and most exciting! Photos from more than 50 booths all in one website.
Ready? Get set… Go to A Cherry on Top for previews of the hottest new scrapbooking and papercraft products as they were displayed at the trade show.
From the quick browse I took, these products and manufacturers caught my eye:
American Crafts - gorgeous new papers, multisized ribbon (yum!), and some colorful flowers in bottles.
Basic Grey - new papers in a light and colorful palette
Canvas Concepts - scrapbook layouts for walls!
Die Cuts with A View - chipboard mat stacks, in the tradition of their popular stacks

Hambly - Screen prints… I’m not sure what they are but they look interesting! (shown above)
K & Co - Twinkle Type (glittery letters! oh my!)
Sweetwater - doodling templates
*** That’s it. All new, all paper goodness! I’ll be bringing you in-depth looks at these products and more new stuff as they come out. So check back often! Happy scrapping! Or, should I say, happy shopping?
